About Our Firm

Kelley / Uustal was founded by two of the nation’s most successful and experienced trial attorneys, Robert Kelley and John Uustal.

The firm’s attorneys include seasoned courtroom advocates with combined courtroom experience spanning nearly fifty years and more than one hundred jury trials. Our passion is to help our clients seek justice. Under our legal system, justice is quantified by the award of monetary damages. Together, the attorneys at Kelley / Uustal have been instrumental in securing almost a quarter of a billion dollars in jury awards and settlements for their clients.

Quite often, in especially complex cases, evidence isn’t always apparent at the scene of the accident. Evidence is sometimes buried in engineering design documents, corporation reports, interoffice memos and past cases. Kelley / Uustal’s unique Forensic Discovery Methodology allows the firm to reverse-engineer the scene of an accident, injury, or product malfunction. The firm’s attorneys, along with engineers, doctors and scientists, trace the root causes of a personal tragedy back to its earliest and truest origin, ensuring that justice is served.

Protect and Prevent
As advocates against dangerous products, the attorneys at Kelley / Uustal have dramatically improved the lives of the clients they represent. Our cases continue to define the standards of success in protecting the rights of people injured by dangerous products, greedy corporations and medical negligence.

Just as importantly, our actions have helped to enforce responsibility within the insurance industry, improve automobile and product safety, and prescription drug testing practices. An Ounce of Prevention is Worth a Pound of Cure.

Pursuit of Justice
When injuries cannot be prevented, Kelley / Uustal attorneys pursue justice. We have the courage and resources to stand up against powerful corporations that sell defective products and the insurance companies who don’t deliver on their commitments. In short, we have the successful courtroom experience to stand and deliver.

Punish Intentional Wrongdoing
When companies care more about profits than safety, they must be held accountable, and wrongdoing must be punished in a court of law. This accountability continues to make the cars we drive, the medical products we use, and the consumer products we buy safer.

MRI CONTRAST LAWYER SIDE EFFECTS NSF DYE GADOLINIUM Video Clips. Duration : 3.60 Mins.

WHAT IS NSF? NSF is an extremely disabling disease characterized by high blood pressure, burning, itching, swelling and hardening of the skin. Other symptoms include red or dark patches on the skin; pain deep in the hip bones or ribs and muscle weakness. NSF can progress to the point of causing severe stiffness in joints, and it can lead to death. It can take some time after Gadolinium exposure for NSF symptoms to appear, and the disease often progresses very slowly. At this time, there is no treatment or cure for NSF. However, improved kidney function does seem to slow the development of the disease. Unfortunately, for many patients with NSF, the only way to improve their kidney function is with a transplant. The MRI-NSF injury lawyers at Parker Waichman Alonso LLP can help victims of NSF obtain compensation for their Gadolinium MRI contrast dye injuries to help them recover lost wages, the costs of medical care, pain and suffering and damages from the makers of Gadolinium Contrast Dye used in MRIs. NSF AND GADOLINIUM CONTRAST DYES USED IN MRI. In 2006, Dutch NSF researchers first discovered the connection between NSF and the Gadolinium Contrast Dyes used in MRI. Since 2006, other researchers have reinforced the Dutch NSF findings. A Yale University study reported that 95-percent of those with NSF had an MRI that involved a Gadolinium contrast dye two to three months before their symptoms appeared. In 2007, researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital found that kidney

What is Gadolinium?

Gadolinium is a colorless liquid that doctors inject into the veins of certain patients undergoing magnetic resonance imagery (MRI) procedures. The liquid is designed to bond with damaged or diseased tissues, giving doctors a clearer picture of the body’s internal processes. Unfortunately, gadolinium has recently been linked to a number of serious side effects including Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF).

Nephrogenic Systemic Fibrosis (NSF)

NSF is a recently discovered disease that affects the skin and results in tightening and swelling that can limit the movement of the joints. The skin may also develop red or darkened patches, plaques, or papules. The patient may experience burning, itching, or severe pain in the area. A number of treatments have been tried and are being investigated, though none have proved consistently successful.

Many claim that the only way you can get NSF is from a gadolinium injection. In fact, the disorder did not even exist until 1997, when gadolinium compounds first came into use. There are currently hundreds of cases of NSF around the country, and the number continues to grow.

FDA ‘Black Box’ Warning on Gadolinium

In May 2007, the FDA announced that it was requiring gadolinium-based contrast agents to include a ‘black box’ warning – the administration’s strictest – to product packaging alerting patients to the risk of a potentially fatal disease. Gadolinium-based agents implicated by the warning include:

  • Magnevist (gadopentetate dimeglumine)
  • Omniscan (gadodiamide)
  • OptiMARK (gadoversetamide)
  • MultiHance (gadobenate dimeglumine)
  • ProHance (gadoteridol)

  • There are many different types of injuries that can occur that would make you eligible for Workers’ Comp. Ask an Attorney if you do not want to ask your employer. An attorney will give you free counsel about your case and how to handle working with your employer’s insurance company.
  • Injuries sustained while working for a company don’t always have to be physical, but can also be mental. Such as job-related stress.
  • Immediate attention is needed to be able to have a chance for compensation. Don’t delay, best to seek a workers compensation lawyer before talking to insurance company.
  • Keep track of all your records like doctors bills, time missed from work, and all paperwork given throughout the process.
  • It’s not always a sudden incident that occurs at work to be covered by workers’ comp. If your job required you to do the same repetitive motion and ends up causing wear and tear on your body, you’re likely to be covered.
  • Don’t always settle for a lump sum. Talk to your doctor to make sure no further medical attention will be required before considering taking a lump some from your employer’s insurance company. A workers compensation lawyer can help you with all these matters at no cost with a free consultation about your case. Most workers compensation lawyers provide a “No Recovery, No Fee” client relationship.
